Today’s Premiere Diva: Fan Bingbing turns them green with envy in Christopher Bu

Today's Premiere Diva: Fan Bingbing turns them green with envy in Christopher Bu

For me, Fan Bingbing rarely disappoints, infact the Chinese actress/singer is a bonafide fashionista and she definitely brought her fashion “A” game on the red carpet last evening at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ during the opening festivities. In a showstopping ethnic design by Christopher Bu paired with an emerald & gold Elie Saab clutch off-setting her pale complexion & ruby red lips, she was a sight for sore eyes.

Sidewalk Style from Cannes: Diane Kruger struts it in Versus

Sidewalk Style from Cannes: Diane Kruger struts it in Versus

I liked very few fashion statements from Wednesday’s style offerings at Cannes but I have to say, I liked everything Diane Kruger brought in the name of fashion. Sure the 2012 Cannes juror looks like a painfully thin school girl here but she certainly commanded attention at the jury photo-call marking Day 1 of the Cannes Film Festival in this maroon lace-up number by Versus. As far as fashion goes, she was on point.

And I respect that – lord knows if I were Michelle Obama, I’d steer clear of the black hole of bullshit and sad, sad desperation that is the Kardashian family. (Actually, that desire isn’t exclusive to First Ladies.) But the 21st century Jackie O looked so goddamn beautiful in her printed Naeem Khan gown that I had to weep a few tears for the lack of photos of this full-length gown (which was my Fall 2011 red carpet prediction for Zoe Saldana).

Being a feminist, and a person with immense student loan debt, and just a human being with a…

She needs to step it up a notch tomorrow.

Indian Fashion Police

Films, Red Carpet, Beauties, and the best in fashion. It never gets any bigger than seeing the new styles at Cannes film festival each year. Many trends world-wide get set here and IFP will surely keep you updated about our very own Indian celebs. So day 1 started off on a very fashionable note with Freida Pinto taking the red carpet as the brand ambassador of L’oreal Paris.

Freida Pinto opted for a pink Michael Angel gown and combined the look with ‘Chopard’ jewelry. The beaded bodice and the soft color works for us but the platform heels seems a little out-of-place with such a flowy ensemble. The hair and the make-up were undoubtedly flawless but wish Freida would have opted for a more demure outfit for the first day at Cannes, since this outfit does not make any lasting impression.

While daytime look was softer, Freida opted for an all ‘Versace’…
