French-Indian Actress Kalki Koechlin in head-to-toe Dior Resort at ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ Cannes 2012 Photo-call on Day 7

Kalki always manages to pull off whatever she opts to wear on the red carpet, thanks in part to her school-girl-ballerina physique, bubbly personality and plucky contemporary appeal. Anybody else with the same complexion would have blended into the pale fabric of this dress especially when playing it up with equally neutral looking accessories. ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ directed by her husband Anurag Kashyap is one of the few Indian films screening at the Cannes Film Festival this year.

I have to admit, seeing Angelina Jolie walk the red carpet with her fiance Brad Pitt was a secret wish of mine for this year’s festivities at Cannes. That wish now seems to be fading fast as all the day-7 pictures start to trickle in and Brad is seen flying solo at every single photo-op. In other news, back in black…Kim Kardashian has finally left London and has landed in Nice for the Cannes film festival. It isn’t clear as yet when exactly she will be walking the red carpet but judging from her airport style, she will be bringing the glamour. Stay tuned.

Arabic Singer Najwa Karam Heats Up Day 6 at Cannes 2012 in Zuhair Murad

This is what Beyonce’s 2012 met gala gown should have been, fully lined to match her complexion if only to keep them guessing. Arabic singer Najwa Karam hit the red carpet at Cannes on day 6 (on behalf of L’Oreal for which she is its brand ambassador in her home country of Lebanon) and hit it out of the fashion ball park in a custom-made white and brown lacy Zuhair Murad design. The dress was tailored to fit her beautifully, draped flawlessly and hugged every curve perfectly guaranteeing her status as best dressed for the day.
