Lakme Fashion Week had a slow start on Day 1 but seems to have picked up with new designers taking centre stage with their new ideas.          After the Indian wear getting IFP’s vote yesterday, many western inspired collection did catch my attention on Day 2. IFP picks these designers for their unique collection:

‘Surendri’ by Yogesh Chaudhary

Fun, colorful and chic is how I can describe Yogesh Chaudhary’s collection. The collection had prints in bright colors in this collection ‘Miss Pac-in District’ which consisted of  skirts, Tops, trousers, jackets, blouses, trenches, knitted dresses and cardigans, saris and even swim wear. IFP likes this collection as it was trendy and different especially heart the printed jumpsuits. Hope to see more creative work from Yogesh in future.

Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2012 starts in Mumbai with many designers showcasing their works on day 1. There were budding designers as well who showcased their work in the ‘Talent Box’ section. As a writer I would like to encourage new designers to showcase their talent, hence writing a criticism for their new collection will not be fair to the hard-work put in by them. This also stands for established designer, since all of them put in many month’s effort to bring out their collection every new season. In our review I will only comment on the collection that I liked the best in terms of design, originality, fit & cut. IFP’s pick for Day 1 are Payal Singhal and Pallavi Jaikishan for the fact that their collection had all the elements of perfection and were glorious.
