Fashionwidget’s Verdict: When it comes to fashion for a good cause, quite frankly we really don’t care what you wear to raise awareness, raise funds and everything else you’re doing for your charity and the greater good. Kate Winslet’s Global Chic – Fashionwidget

Charity ambassador and host Kate Winslet arrives at the Cardboard Citizens Gala Fundraising Dinner wearing a dress by french couture house Max Chaoul which she donated to the event as one of the star auction lots of the night held at Christ Church Spitalfields on March 19, 2011 in London, England.

Actress Kate Winslet attends the "Mildred Pierce" premiere at the Ziegfeld Theatre on March 21, 2011 in New York City.

Who: Kate Winslet

What: Charity Event/Premiere

When: March 2011

Where: London, England & New York City, New York

Fashionwidget Verdict:  B+

We love that Kate was brave enough to show up at an event (so close to prom season) in a prom-ready belted white mini dress that could just as easily have come from her daughter Mia’s closet but as a matter of fact is a French Couture design from The House of Max Chaoul. Kate, who is known for donating some of her most famous designer clothing to charity right after her red carpet appearances, is said to have donated the white number to the Citizen Gala Fundraiser she attended.  Two days later and across the pond in New York City, the Oscar-winner showed up at the world premiere of her HBO mini-series ‘Mildred Pierce’ in a black semi-sheer/semi-polka dotted skintight sheath dress by Stella McCartney topped off  with a pulled back hairdo, nude makeup and a Calvin Klein clutch.
