FASHIONWIDGET’S Verdict: When I started fashion blogging way back when (officially? March ’11 lol), my intent was to add my own opinion to the wonderful world of fashion as is happens around the world, in the nicest way possible with respected and appreciated help from all my contributors. Sadly, some fashion mavens just know how to bring out the worst kind of commentary in you.  I did not want it to get nasty but it seems this cannot be avoided. Okay so by now we know that far too many people dressed strangely to this particular movie premiere so we’re thinking that perhaps it has something to do with the film or maybe a theme was announced in the invitation notice, like “come stoned” or “dress to shock” I don’t know and my fellow fashion-bloggers don’t either. The jury is still hung over from previous deliberations pertaining to this same event.  Please feel free to leave your theories. In the meantime, it’s a FAIL from us. F minus if possible. 😦

With the big event that was the amFAR gala taking place last evening at Cannes, we have to admit that every other event was under-reported especially the traditional red carpet premieres. Antonio Banderas showed up sans Melanie Griffith to support Pedro Almodovar’s latest flick ‘The Skin I Live In’ as it premiered at Cannes. Divas who represented in the name of fashion included but were not limited to Marisa Paredes, Elena Anaya and Bianca Suarez. C+

Fashionwidget’s Verdict: Milla Jovovich just set the red carpet on fire in a very classy shimmering white, red and silver gown by Prada. She is definitely a shoe-in for best dressed today. The models have been really giving the actresses a run for their money on the red carpet this year even though technically Jovovich is a bona-fide actress now too. It was nice to see Laeticia Casta return to the Cannes red carpet looking as lovely as ever. We like what we’ve seen so far.
