Mag Rack: What Do Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan Have in Common?

Besides their killer looks and stunning beauty? Both actresses have now been seen paying fashion tributes to iconic Hollywood characters from blockbuster films on the cover of international magazines. Rai-Bachchan did it first back in February 2011 when she graced the cover of Vogue India wearing a Natalie Portman in ‘Black Swan’ inspired Dior couture feathered blazer. Now Padukone (on the cover of GQ India August 2012) pays tribute to ‘Catwoman’ Anne Hathaway’s character from the Hollywood summer blockbuster ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ dressed in a skin-tight corseted leather suit complete with a jewel encrusted cat-eye mask.

While Rai-Bachchan is still on maternity leave following the birth of her first child in November of 2011, Padukone will next be seen in the movie ‘Race 2’ opposite John Abraham and her current hit film ‘Cocktail’ co-star Saif Ali-Khan.

A New Day A New Month: Bollywood Item Newbies Cover GQ India but Who’s Who?

Fashion Query or Style Query, I can’t seem to tell these three new Bollywood starlets apart. I think the folks at GQ India figured the same, that’s why they have put them on the cover at the same time. Angela Johnson, Mallika Haydon and Nathalia Pinheiro all exports from Britain, Australia and Brazil respectively, seen here looking like triplets and true item girls* in black and white tuxedo tops, thigh-high stockings and black pumps. In my opinion, there’s no fashion here just sex, sex, sex.

*Item girl – a female who appears in an Indian film besides the leading or supporting actresses to perform a sizzling dance-number to help the film along.
