The girl with the dragon tattoo’s Rooney Mara in yet another black dress just like the many she wore during the promotional tour for the film. Why???
The minute Ms. Banks stepped out on the red carpet I found myself asking if she had borrowed her outfit from the set of her hit film ‘hunger games’ or if she’d come as the eccentric character she plays?
Personally, I am tired of this trend of actresses showing up on the red carpet as characters they play in films.

Fashionwidget’s Verdict: In her part costume part ball gown, Christina brought the Savage and the Beauty to the costume Gala (we believe she is wearing a Zac Posen creation) and Tom brought suave-classy-sexy to the red carpet. This is all anyone could ask of two people who truly understand style. A+

Fashionwidget’s Verdict: This event is arguably the The “Oscars” of the Fashion World. While we are still deliberating (lots of dresses and suits to review) and while most of us are currently working on other projects simultaneously, we’ve managed to shortlist some of the best dressed celebrities from last evening’s costume gala in New York for you our lovely and *wink*wink* very patient readers. Overall it was a great night, some outfits were drop-dead gorgeous while some we refuse to even upload pics of, talk less of comment on. If you have nothing nice to say, it is better not to say anything at all right? As for the celebrities shortlisted in the slideshow above, they deserve a round of applause for bringing in on the red carpet last night. A+
