First Look: Actress Halle Berry in a Red Saree from the Upcoming Film ‘Cloud Atlas’

Sporting sleek shoulder length hair with highlighted bangs and wearing a traditional red saree adorned with golden accents complete with what looks like bridal henna on her hands and arms, Halle Berry appears to be portraying an Indian bride in this movie still taken from the upcoming Hollywood film ‘Cloud Atlas’ in which the Oscar™ winner is said to be portraying several characters. The film, due in theatres this Autumn, also co-stars fellow Oscar™ winners Susan Sarandon, Tom Hanks and Jim Broadbent.

Bollywood Fashion Update: Deepika Padukone Opts for a Sabyasachi Saree for the ‘Cocktail’ Premiere

Stylishly seen here on the cover of EYE (a section of the Indian Financial Express), former Indian supermodel turned actress Deepika Padukone is riding a tidal wave of popularity with the success of her recent films ‘desi boyz’ & the newly released ‘cocktail’ not to mention countless magazine covers that almost rival her days as a supermodel as well as numerous appearances promoting her brands. One such occasion was that of the world premiere of ‘cocktail’ in Mumbai last week where she debuted her newly curvy figure in a stunning 2012 bridal collection Sabyasachi saree. Previously in the week, she promoted the film wearing casual looks from Halston Heritage and Diesel, in all of which she looked on-trend and poised. Bollywood Fashion Update: Imran Khan Covers Filmfare Magazine – August 2012

Looking too cool for school in a classic white tee, faded jeans & wayfarer sunglasses Indian actor Imran Khan covers filmfare magazine’s first issue for the month of August 2012.

I love Imran Khan (Fashionwidget’s choice for best dressed bollywood male 2011) the actor and the stylish bloke. I have not seen enough of him this year on the red carpet but wherever & whenever the reclusive actor has shown up, he has delivered the style as expected even at somewhere as simple as the airport. He just knows how to bring something special to the traditional suit look and I think that’s the style factor I appreciate most about him. His wife Avantika’s style (pictured below) is a different tale entirely but she is a star-wife and is free to dress any way she chooses to. I appreciate those who try to make fashion statements but if they do not care for fashion then they should be left alone. While we’re on fashion statements, I’m hoping that new beard Khan has been sporting is for an upcoming movie role…it keeps growing and looks a bit creepy. Nothing against bearded people or beards or anything.

Bollywood Fashion Update: Actress Deepika Padukone’s Style Tour Begins

She has just begun a whirlwind promotional tour for her upcoming film ‘Cocktail’ so we are guaranteed to see more fashion risk taking from the Bollywood showstopper. Preliminary reports are good. I have to say I wasn’t expecting to see her so elegantly decked out in a Sabyasachi Mukherjee lehenga saree on Sunday as she walked the red carpet at the Filmfare South Awards. The tie-dye skinny jean and tank top look seems in line with the fashion sense of her ‘Cocktail’ character (at least based on what I picked up from the trailers) and as we know actresses tend to dress up as their characters during the film’s promotion. She seemed to be back to being Deepika in a jumpsuit, black peep toe pumps and fuchsia clutch when she stepped out for more promotional duties with her co-stars Saif Ali-Khan (pictured) & Diana Penty (not pictured). What I like about her style is the fact that while she never seems to be trying so hard she never stops short of reminding us of her days as a supermodel with her choice of fashion statements.

Even as she graces the cover of Women’s Health India July/August 2012 gone is her usual high-octane style replaced with a more resort/beach carefree look in line with ‘Cocktail’ tentatively scheduled to hit theatres on July 13th. Yes, Ms. Padukone is in full ‘Cocktail’ promo mode and (while it may be asking for too much) I hope she lands the upcoming covers of L’Officiel and Hi! Blitz magazines just for the sake of glamour. 🙂

Hollywood Fashion Update: Salma Hayek and Blake Lively Light Up the ‘Savages’ Premiere in California

Blake Lively (left) never ceases to amaze me, the fact that she never uses a stylist yet manages to pick the right outfit and styles herself perfectly each time she steps out on the red carpet is quite commendable. Here she is at the premiere of her latest film ‘Savages’ in a swirly striped beige and black figure accentuating Zuhair Murad, sensibly paired with her Veronica Lake-esque hair-do and on trend red lips, in fact only one other person came close to stealing her fashion thunder on the red carpet Monday evening in Westwood, California and that was her co-star Salma Hayek in a green floor-length-sequins-embellished Gucci number. Fashion on.

Fresh off her most prolific Cannes Film Festival visit yet, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan walked the red carpet alongside the likes of Isabella Rossellini and Florence Welch Tuesday night in London, England as a special guest for the opening of the new Bvlgari Hotel and Residences.

Proving once and for all in a pictorial for US Flaunt July 2012 that there is more to her than just playing the damsel-in-distress with the exotic looks. These photos bring to mind the blaxploitation era heroines portrayed by actress by Pam Grier in the 1970s, a no-nonsense crime-fighting sexy woman who was not to be messed around with.
