Fashionwidget’s Verdict: Models versus Actresses versus Singers versus Designers, every single one of them showed up with their fashionista game face on. We Especially loved the colourful statements made by Doutzen Kroes and Janet Jackson in a two-tone Haider Ackmermann dress. The fashion was simply stellar on the amFAR red carpet this year as expected.  We loved the Jean Fares, the Chanel(s) and the Givenchy Couture(s), we also cherished looks from L.A.M.B (Gwen Stefani was a showstopper in her black halter ensemble) and Atelier Versace. It is with sincere hope that we wonder if it was as much fun for all these divas to strut in their latest designer threads for a worthy cause as it was for us to watch and offer our opinions. We also hope some serious money was raised to benefit AIDS research. Cannes Film Festival DAY 4 – Fashion on the Red Carpet

Fashionwidget’s Verdict: There was a lot to see on the red carpet today so we are just going to keep in simple and highlight what we loved. Penelope Cruz served it up hot in Marchesa FALL/2011 and in Stella McCartney (at the photo call), Paz Vega kept it interesting in Azarro F/W 2010 and Uma Thurman kept to her Cannes 2011 red carpet go-to-colour in a white Chanel Couture gown. Day 4 fashion was on par with what we’ve seen so far at Cannes this year but we want more oomph on the red carpet from now on.

Cannes Film Festival 2011 Day 1 – The Best of the Rest

WHAT: ‘Midnight in Paris’ Screening at the Cannes Film Festival 2011 – Day 1

Fashionwidget’s Verdict: The ever ethereal Gong Li continued her wow-factor this year in a stunning deep purple gown by Roberto Cavalli, Uma Thurman looked divine in Versace, Rachel McAdams looked angelic earlier in the day when she showed up for a photo-call in a white flower accented shift dress by Maxime Simoens Couture then later on in the evening gave the red carpet a run for its red-money in a (you guessed it) shocking red number by Marchesa. Karolina Kurkova looked truly regal in Armani Privé Autumn/Spring 2009-10. All in all it was a very good fashion show.
