Mag Rack: What Do Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan Have in Common?

Besides their killer looks and stunning beauty? Both actresses have now been seen paying fashion tributes to iconic Hollywood characters from blockbuster films on the cover of international magazines. Rai-Bachchan did it first back in February 2011 when she graced the cover of Vogue India wearing a Natalie Portman in ‘Black Swan’ inspired Dior couture feathered blazer. Now Padukone (on the cover of GQ India August 2012) pays tribute to ‘Catwoman’ Anne Hathaway’s character from the Hollywood summer blockbuster ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ dressed in a skin-tight corseted leather suit complete with a jewel encrusted cat-eye mask.

While Rai-Bachchan is still on maternity leave following the birth of her first child in November of 2011, Padukone will next be seen in the movie ‘Race 2’ opposite John Abraham and her current hit film ‘Cocktail’ co-star Saif Ali-Khan.

Breaking Fashion: Supermodel Deepika Padukone Covers Vogue India - June 2012

I have seen some pretty tacky people thrown onto the cover of Vogue India in recent times, something that would never fly if Anna Wintour were running the show. Thankfully, we can all look forward to the month of June in vogue now that it has been revealed that next month’s cover girl is our favourite supermodel turned actress Deepika Padukone. Grab a copy as soon as you can. Fashion ON.
