I think it is fair to say that we’ve been “stalking” Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen ever since he passed away last February, since we were so depressed and worried that we will never see this level of genius ever again because he was so unique and one of his kind. Fortunately, Sarah Burton gave us peace of mind and put us all in awe by putting her creative spin (as a cherry) on top of Alexander McQueen’s legacy.
Sarah Burton was born in 1974 in Macclesfield, Cheshire. Like many other famous designers, she also went to Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. She interned at Alexander McQueen during her third year of school and then joined the company full-time upon graduation at 1997.
